I help Artists revive creative arousal with Gardening through Art.
My given-name is Elise Watness. I design Gardening through Art activities for people of all creative levels. I am a mother, painter (Western Rosemalers Association), printmaker (West Sound Printmakers), and educator (Montessori bilingual). My work can be seen at the National Nordic Museum Store, on the shop windows at Nordiska, hand-painted signs at The Brothers Greenhouses, and posters for Port Orchard and Bremerton Farmers Markets. With a degree in environmental journalism and a background in food and farming, I co-create with my horticulturist husband to invigorate garden groups, classrooms, retreats, and other healthy, successful artists through Joyful Plant. Gardening Through Art is an emerging program designed to help you revive artistic skills with imaginative practical life experiences. Participants in Gardening Through Art feel more artistically inspired and prolific. |

I have served as a professional educator & consultant in- and outside of the classroom for over twenty years. Other professional experience includes: faith, food, farms, español, education, administration, journalism, photography, art, curricular consultation, public relations, sign painting, plant research, gardening info-design, painting, and printmaking I believe we are capable as humans to effectively steward the Earth with locally produced food, prosperous creative economies, and long-term health. I believe we can do this by aligning on fun ways to grow and gather food, create wealth through ancestral wisdom, and manage our resources in a way that is hospitable to our neighbors and the planet.
