Introduction to Gardening Through Art

Objective: To learn the shape and texture of 
Prepation:
Process: Placing the leaf beneath the paper, rub the broad side along edges evenly and thoroughly until you decide the impression is complete. The paper may be preserved for reference and enjoyment.

Leaf Rubbings with Salal

  1. 1Prepare: a crayon, paper, and a flat leaf. 
  2. Explore: rubbing the flat side over the paper-covered-leaf reveals an impression. 
  3. Valor: Try making a binder with plants and their names, or a collage with an anchor word for inspiration. 
  4. Imagine: What else can you do with leaf impressions? How can this inform your artwork and gardening?
